Welcome to our beautiful self-built Home.
We hope our home reflects the enormous amount of travelling we have done and also our interest in travellers and travelling generally. Our house is situated on land formerly belonging to the Jameson Whiskey family estate and now overlooks the Portmarnock Golf Links course, designed some years ago by Bernhard Langer. The house is named after the island on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia that we visited on our extended world tour some years ago. We are Ray & Alvis, parents of three boys who have finally flown the nest (well that’s what we hope anyway) and are enjoying opening our home to visitors. Ray is the Golf expert, a former captain of Clontarf Golf Club and has an extensive insider’s knowledge of all of the many local golf courses. Alvis does the rest; brochures, bus timetables, a brief introduction to Irish history, local places of interest and even gardening tips.
